On the 1st of July, Sweden will begin its 6-month presidency of the EU. Having this position, it is a good opportunity to show one more time how Sweden is in advance in terms of environmental commitment and how it can accompany the EU towards a promising deal in Copenhagen.

In this context, Going-Electric wishes that Sweden will enhance the interest for electric vehicles across the EU. We can be confident about it if we refer to the speech of Lars Leijonborg, the Swedish minister of higher education and research, at a congress of the DG-Research in Brussels, when he announced his support to EVs by saying “I believe in electricity as a future “fuel”” notably.

One good action we recommend to the Swedish presidency to make is commuting only by electric vehicles within Brussels.
